We are first generation Morgan owners (someone has to be). It was only five years ago that I met my first Morgan. Until then my horse life included mostly Thoroughbreds, Quarterhorses, and Arabs. It did not take me long to figure out how unique Morgans are. Now I am dedicated to introducing Morgan horses to this part of the country where they are scarcely known. In our part of the country, Quarter horses and gaited horses dominate the market. It has taken me awhile to sort out the type of Morgans I like the very best --- the Morgans you see all over this website. Although I am at an advanced age to be starting up a breeding program, I have a close friend who lives with me and shares the responsibility of the horse care and training. Ann-Maxwell also shares my passion for Morgans and has been my riding companion for more than twenty years. She plans to continue with the adventure we have begun. Last summer, we started out from Georgia on a driving/riding vacation to Wyoming (another story). One of our goals was to meet Meadowlark Jazz Spur because we admired him so much when he appeared in The Morgan Magazine. Along the way, we stopped and visited several Morgan farms. Before we got to La Reata Morgans and AFS Morgans, we ran out of time, but we did meet Sherry Jespersen and Osirus in Colorado at Meadowlark Morgans. By
the time we headed back to Georgia we had acquired an Adiel's Casino
Gold daughter from Linnea, two Osirus daughters (in foal to Sidehill
Thunder) and the promise of a stud colt from Dusty Hackett, and, with
Sherry's help, picked up another Western Working mare from Nebraska. Please
feel free to visit if you find yourself near Georgia.
